About
A small resort, built by hand, run with heart.
Rockland began as a family dream — to build a place where the mountains do most of the work, and hospitality does the rest.
Our story
The river came first. Then the cottages. Then you.
We are a family-run property on a quiet bend of the Ganges in Shivpuri — a short drive from Rishikesh, but a lifetime away from the noise. We opened Rockland to share the mornings we grew up with: mist rising off the water, chai on the porch, no phones.
Every cottage was built from local cedar. Every dish comes from our own kitchen. Our rafting guides have known these rapids since they were children. We keep things small on purpose — under twenty rooms, so we can remember your name.
Whether you're here for the adrenaline of Grade III rapids or the silence of a forest sunrise, we hope to make you feel less like a guest and more like family visiting after a long time away.
Nature-first
No plastic bottles. Solar-heated water. Cedar and cotton over glass and steel.
Locally rooted
Every staff member is from the surrounding villages. Every rupee flows back home.
Slow luxury
Fewer rooms, longer meals, better sleep. Quality of experience over quantity of features.
